Frequently Asked Questions
I need a custom cake this weekend? Can you help me?
Maybe. We are a small, home-based bakery, and we have full-time jobs outside the bakeshop. So we currently only take about 1-3 orders most weekends. We thus suggest requesting a quote and getting on our calendar at least 3 weeks in advance. Custom wedding cakes require significantly more notice.
Do you offer delivery?
We are happy to deliver your desserts with a minimum order of $75 (not including tax). We charge $50 plus $0.62 per mile from our location in Temescal Valley, CA.
Do you offer gluten free or vegan specialty items?
Unfortunately, we have not yet perfected our gluten free or vegan-friendly recipes. We hope to be able to offer such options to our clients in the future.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We proudly accept cash, personal check, PayPal, and Zelle.
When is payment due?
We require a non-refundable security deposit upon signing to secure our time for your special event. For all wedding cakes and other orders over $200, the deposit is $100. For all other orders, the deposit is equal to 25% of your total order. The remaining balance is due either 10 days (for wedding cakes and other orders over $200) or 3 days (for all other orders) before your event.
I need to cancel my order. Can I get a refund?
The terms and conditions upon which a refund may be issued will be laid out in your Cake Agreement.
How do I keep my purchases fresh?
Buttercream, as the name suggests, is made from butter and will get very soft if left at room temperature for too long. So your custom cake should be kept refrigerated until about an hour before you plan to serve it. Please wrap or cover leftover cakes and pies and return to the refrigerator to enjoy within three (3) days. Other items, like cookies and bars, will stay fresh if stored at room temperature for 3-4 days.
